About GROUND ZERO
BLUES CLUB
Clarksdale, Mississippi has long been described as "Ground Zero" for blues aficionados from around the globe. It all started here.
The town has been home to musicians that changed the world including: Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke, Charlie Patton, Robert Johnson, WC Handy, Ike Turner, Charlie Musselwhite, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram , Lucious Spiller, and Anthony 'Big A' Sherrod to name a few. That's why we created Ground Zero Blues Club® — to celebrate the area's rich blues heritage and to provide a venue in which it can continue.

Located at Ø Blues Alley next door to the Delta Blues Museum in the heart of historic downtown Clarksdale,
Ground Zero Blues Club® opened in 2001. Owned by Bill Luckett; Morgan Freeman (yes, that Morgan Freeman); Eric Meier; and Howard Stovall; Ground Zero Blues Club® is the place for anyone looking for an authentic Delta Blues experience.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to showcase the best of today's Delta Blues musicians. Although some national acts perform from time to time, patrons are more likely to find the "real deal" at Ground Zero Blues Club® — those musicians who live in the Mississippi Delta and continue in the tradition of their musical forefathers. There is always live music Wednesday through Saturday (and even on a few Sundays when the occasion arises). We also serve a "down home" menu that promises to please.
Ground Zero Blues Club® is critically acclaimed and recognized around the globe. It has been voted #1 blues club in the nation by BestBluesClub.org. In 2018, Ground Zero was ranked in the top 3 best LIVE Music Clubs in the world by Celebrated Living Magazine (American Airlines) while Clarksdale was named the #1 music city other than Nashville by Fodors.
